WHAT IS A NOTARY PUBLIC?

According to the National Notary Association, a Notary Public is an official of integrity appointed by state government —typically by the secretary of state — to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents.

WHAT FEES DO YOU CHARGE FOR YOUR NOTARY SERVICES?

All notaries in the State of Texas must comply with state law regarding notary fees. Every time we apply the notary stamp we can charge $6, plus our travel fees. There may be some additional fees if you need us to provide witnesses for documents, wait additional signers or some other situations. The best thing is to call or text us so we have a full understanding of your needs and we can quote you an exact price. You can also visit our Pricing Page for a complete picture of the fee schedule

WHAT ARE ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF IDENTIFICATION?

Any current U.S. government-issued identification is considered an acceptable form of ID. This includes drivers’ licenses, military IDs, and state-issued identification cards and a U.S. Passport.

CAN YOU GIVE ME LEGAL ADVICE OR DRAFT LEGAL DOCUMENTS?

No, we are not attorneys, and therefore cannot offer any legal advice. This includes providing or preparing documents on your behalf. Before your appointment, you should consult with an attorney for legal questions and to ensure you have the correct document for your situation.

WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE CURRENT ID FOR A NOTARIZATION?

First and foremost, for the benefit of all parties involved, do your best to get a current ID by visiting the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. If that is not an option, in Texas we can utilize a Credible Witness to verify your identity. A credible witness must either personally know the Notary or the signer well enough to be able to swear or affirm the signer’s identity before the Notary. A Credible Witness must present to the Notary a valid, unexpired ID issued by the federal or a state government that contains the photo and signature of the witness (1 TAC 87.40[2] and 87.1[1]).
